Description

The SAFPAK^® 2767R is a reusable packaging design manufactured from stainless steel and brass to give a long service life.   The SAFPAK^® 2767R consists of an Outer Container (Design No 2767) which carries a resealable Containment Vessel (CV), Design No 2944, incorporating lead shielding within shock absorbing foam packing.

The SAFPAK^® 2767 Outer Container is a pressed stainless steel body and lid with a bayonet action closure.  The 2944 CV is a resealable stainless steel containment vessel with a brass screw closure and a single O-ring seal.  The radioactive contents are held within in primary containers within the cavity.  The contents are centralised within the cavity using a defined set of liners and holders.

Containment / Shielding

The containment system is provided by the 2944 CV in combination with the primary sealed glass or plastic vial containers for liquid contents.  The 2944 CV provides shielding equivalent to 44 mm of lead.

Approved Contents

• Medical radionuclides in liquid form in a vial. Liquid contents are limited to a maximum volume of 10 ml within the sealed primary container (or vial).
• Solids within suitable primary containers or capsules may be carried.
• Permitted radionuclides are; C-11, F-18, Cu-64, Ga-68, Zr-89, Tc-99m, Cs-137, Cu-67, Lu-177, Mo-99, In-111, I-125, Pb-203, Ra-224 and Tb-149.
